About
Julia, originally from La Crosse, Wisconsin, attended the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities for Kinesiology and Art, followed by attaining her Master's at Concordia University in Orthotics and Prosthetics. She is currently working towards certification in anaplastology, a specialty of prosthetics. Her work spans of several methods and mediums: painting, sculpture, mold making, photography, digital media, and prosthetics. Her work focuses on human form and experience. To become an "artist-scientist" has been her lifelong goal (according to a letter she wrote as a nine-year old to her future self). You can see these passions combined in both her art and other professional endeavors which have included prosthetics, anaplastology, and medical simulation.
